Neil Munro is a guitarist, composer and teacher based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has been active in the music profession for over thirty years. His musical education is very varied, and ranges from the extremes of informality to the extremes of formality; his work in all three areas of playing, composing and teaching reflects the eclectic nature of his background. As a guitarist, he has performed in a large variety of different situations, with musicians from widely diverging styles. In the field of composing, his work is similarly varied, ranging from orchestral music to pieces for school jazz bands. As a teacher, he has taught literally thousands of people how to play the guitar; he currently teaches in the music department of a prominent Edinburgh school.
